At my first consultation my results from previous tests were discussed and I was told I would need a hysterectomy .He explained everything about the operation in detail and depending on the outcome what further treatment I might need.He was very reassuring and set the next steps in motion. Before the operation he came to see me on the ward and again explained things and any questions I had were answered.Again just before I went into surgery he had a word with me.I think the personal touch goes a long way.Next day he told me the good news that the operation had gone well and he would phone me when the resuts of tests on things removed were back.He duly did this. Thanks to the quick treatment all the cancer had been removed.Again I was fortunate to have key hole surgery. The small scars healed well and so did I.Thank you for your kindness.

the moment i met mr thangesweran ayakannu i was totally put at ease, by his proffessional and caring manner . he explained everything to me in detail about my diagnosis and treatment. he explained about a new kind of surgery using a robot, he explained that he was a fully qualified robotic surgeon and this surgery was less invasive and quicker recovery time,i felt very confident in having the robotic surgery and agreed to have my surgery done this way. i cannot thank mr ayakannu enough for performing my surgery its been fantastic i had no pain after surgery the 5 small incisions have healed beautifully, i am feeling normal people cannot belive i have had a hystrectomy, if you are recommended to have your surgery done this way then have it done by this fantastic surgeon using the robot you wont regret it.

Mr Ayakannu performed robotic surgery to remove my uterus, ovaries, tubes and cervix 4 weeks ago. He came into the hospital the day after my surgery to see how I was, this was on his day off! He is such a friendly, caring but professional doctor. He obviously became a doctor because he is caring and wants to treat patients rather than being guided down the medical path. Thank you Mr Ayakannu, as I told you at clinic, you have totally changed my life

I had a total hysterectomy carried out by Mr Ayakannu January this year, I was made to feel in very good hands right from my very first meeting with Mr Ayakannu, he explained my procedure in detail with me and made me feel very positive about the upcoming operation. On the morning of the operation he spoke with me on being admitted and once again as I was going into theatre, I felt very looked after. I have made a great recovery, it's now been 5 weeks since operation and have attended clinic today to see Mr Ayakannu who is happy with my recovery. What a really caring and lovely person who took time to make sure I was well informed and very confident in him.

Dr Ayakannu was a approachable, factual and informative throughout the whole of my diagnosis of a giant Ovarian cyst. He explained the procedure the multi disciplinary team at Liverpool Womens Hospital had decided to undertake. I was very nervous, and before the procedure Dr Ayakannu took the time to meet with me and again go over any concerns. Also Dr Ayakannu took the time to check on me post operation, on the same day checking I was recovering well. He was kind and supportive throughout the whole process. The only thing was the terminology used about the procedure was a lot to take in as a patient. Perhaps some plain terminology or diagrams could be introduced at appointment to aid patients understanding. Of all the consultants I met during my recent illness, Dr Ayakannu was the most caring, informative and supportive of all and demonstrated genuine care to his patients. I have recovered well and in post op appointments Dr Ayakannu was able to support my recovery showing continuity and compassion throughout what what was a 3 month process.
